This is the most important tip of all. Alcohol and drugs impair your judgment, coordination, and reaction time, making you much more likely to cause an accident. If you are planning to drink or take drugs, make sure to have a designated driver or take a taxi.

Tip 2: Always wear your seatbelt.

Wearing a seatbelt can save your life in the event of an accident. It helps to keep you in your seat and prevents you from being ejected from the vehicle.

Tip 3: Be aware of your surroundings.

Pay attention to the road and other vehicles around you. This will help you to avoid hazards and react quickly to unexpected situations.

Tip 4: Drive defensively.

Anticipate the actions of other drivers and be prepared to take evasive action if necessary. This means driving at a safe speed and leaving plenty of room between you and other vehicles.

Tip 5: Get enough sleep.

Driving while tired can be just as dangerous as driving under the influence. Make sure to get plenty of sleep before getting behind the wheel.

A well-maintained car is less likely to break down or have mechanical problems. Make sure to have your car serviced regularly and get any necessary repairs done promptly.

Tip 8: Be a responsible driver.

Obey the speed limit, don't tailgate, and always yield to pedestrians and cyclists. By being a responsible driver, you can help to keep yourself and others safe on the road.
