Power and Control: In polygamous relationships, the husband typically has complete power and control over his wives. This can lead to abuse and exploitation, as women are often denied basic rights and freedoms.
Isolation: Polygamous groups are often isolated from mainstream society. This can make it difficult for women to escape abusive relationships, as they may have nowhere else to turn.
Child Marriage: In some polygamous groups, young girls are forced to marry older men. This is a form of child abuse that can have devastating consequences for the girls involved.
Health Risks: Polygamy can also lead to health risks for women. For example, women who are pregnant in polygamous relationships are more likely to experience complications, such as premature birth and low birth weight.

Women in the FLDS are expected to be subservient to their husbands, and they are not allowed to leave the community without permission.

Isolation: Cults often isolate their members from the outside world. This can make it difficult for members to get help or to escape the cult.

Abuse: Cults often use physical, emotional, and sexual abuse to control their members. This can be used to keep members in line and to prevent them from leaving the cult.
