Can Jehovah's Witnesses Eat Pork?

Jehovah's Witnesses follow a strict set of dietary guidelines based on their interpretation of the Bible. One of the most well-known of these guidelines is the prohibition on eating pork.

This prohibition is based on several passages in the Old Testament, which state that pigs are unclean animals and should not be eaten. For example, in Leviticus 11:7-8, it says: "And the pig, because it parts the hoof and is cloven-footed but does not chew the cud, is unclean to you. You shall not eat any of their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses."

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that these passages apply to all Christians, not just to the Israelites of the Old Testament. They believe that eating pork is a sin and that it can lead to health problems.

There is no scientific evidence to support the claim that eating pork is unhealthy. In fact, pork is a good source of protein, vitamins, and minerals. However, Jehovah's Witnesses continue to abstain from eating pork as a matter of religious principle.
