Creative differences

One possible reason why Mila Kunis did not reprise her role in Ted 2 is that she had creative differences with the filmmakers over the direction of the sequel. This is a common reason why actors choose not to return to a franchise, as they may feel that the new film is not in keeping with their vision for the character or the series.
